About the work
he work was created during a period in which the artist was bedridden due to an undiagnosed condition that gradually weakened her body. Among its effects were altered states of consciousness and vivid hallucinations, later attributed to a rare nervous system reaction. In this suspended state - part illness, part lucid dreaming - her imagery took on a surreal, psychedelic edge, reflecting both vulnerability and a kind of otherworldly clarity.
